When longtime mate Graeme Press rang me with a “What are you doing in November” question I first assumed he was referring to his usual gig as Musical Director for Carols in the Domain. However when he asked me if I was interested in coming on tour, to play keyboards with legendary Australian band “The Seekers” I was immediately on board.
The Seekers – Judith Durham, Bruce Woodley, Kieth Potger and Athol Steele, burst onto the world stage 50 years ago with their first hit “I’ll Never Find Another You” and since then have had many international number ones, including Georgie Girl, A World Of Our Own, Morningtown Ride and The Carnival Is Over amongst many others.
The show covers all of their hits (and there are so many) as well as recollections and anecdotes across the half century they have played together, Their music was a massive part of my childhood, and it truly an honour to share the stage with genuine Australian musical royalty.
The tour takes in all of Australia’s capital cities throughout November and Early December.
